The week before Christmas…

This week is going to be a mixture of high-pressure periods and silent periods worrying that it is the calm before the storm. I will be off and on at work since I have a three-day week and press day is Thursday, yet all of my print articles are prepared and ready. I imagine there will be lots of smaller tasks and rounding things off this week. And I intend to read Proof by Ted Berner.

I will also start reading Dear Mrs Bird by AJ Pearce which I received from NetGalley. Sound busy enough? Not even close. I will be last-minute Christmas shopping on Friday before heading home for Christmas where I will be met with a flurry of last-minute parties and celebrations, which involve me having to get my hair done, cook party food and I still need to wrap all the presents.

Needless to say, I’m nervous, but I will get at least one more review out before Christmas! This is my promising statement so I can’t back out!

From there onwards, I hope that my break will be fun and relaxing. I have several books to keep me busy, including Before I Let Go and The Trouble Boys. Wish me luck!
