Since my blog has had more of a serious, non-pole related tone to it recently, I would like to get back to some more pole related posts. The break from writing about the industry was kind of cathartic but now I am ready to get back into it, so here goes!
I got through to the Trixters Pole Championship Final 2016! This will be my first pole dancing competition since I won the British Isles amateur championship last November, so I am rather nervous. I have decided to ask the amazing Fi Bourke to make my costume, which is of course going to be absolutely beautiful. I am going to be dancing to my favourite song at the minute: Secret Love Song by Little Mix feat. Jason Derulo, so this will be my second slow, emotional routine but it will be jam-packed with emotion and tricks which play beautifully with the music. I cannot wait for this routine to have its live debut, as it will be the best routine I have ever choreographed. It is already finished, and the final is not until September 11th, 2016 so I am going to spend the whole summer perfecting every last movement.
The Trixters Championship means a lot to me as it is one of the only pole dancing competitions with a disabled category, meaning that it reaches a much wider audience and that shortcomings are celebrated instead of penalised. I cannot wait to report back on the event’s proceedings. Overall, I suppose that is all I have to say for right now on the subject, but I will keep this blog up-to-date with all my training for the final over summer.
